Garrett & Cameron’s unforgettable celebration with The Mini Big Band
This one was pretty special!
When Garrett and Cameron, who live in New York, dreamed of their perfect castle wedding, they turned to the beautiful Scottish countryside. And what better place to celebrate than the magnificent Glenapp Castle, looking absolutely stunning in the autumn light.
With its breathtaking surroundings, beautiful interiors and spectacular ballroom, it really was the perfect setting for a wedding filled with timeless elegance, wonderful people and, of course, incredible live music.
A Wedding Where Music Took Centre Stage
Music was always going to play a huge part in Garrett and Cameron’s wedding celebrations, so it was an absolute pleasure to be asked and trusted to help bring their vision to life.
Both families are incredibly musical, and we absolutely love performing for an audience who appreciate great live music as much as we do. There’s something very special about playing to a room full of people who really know and love this style of music.
For this particular Scottish castle wedding, we decided to do things a little differently, creating a truly bespoke big band show especially for Garrett, Cameron and their guests.
A Very Special Guest Vocalist
To make the evening even more memorable, we brought in an additional singer. And not just any singer, but one of the finest in the business, the wonderful Mr Glenn MacNamara.
Glenn joined our regular vocalist and our fantastic musicians to create a show that really had everything. From the timeless sounds of Frank Sinatra and the great American songbook to the energy and excitement of a full 10-piece live swing band, it was an evening designed for an audience who loved this music every bit as much as we do.
And what an atmosphere!
The dance floor was packed, the music was swinging, and the spectacular ballroom at Glenapp Castle seemed to transport everyone straight back to the golden age of the big bands.
There’s something quite magical about hearing a live 10-piece swing band in a setting like this. The music, the surroundings and the atmosphere all came together perfectly. It really did feel like stepping back in time.
A First Dance with a Personal Touch
One of the most memorable moments of the evening came when Garrett’s sister, Allissa, herself a professional singer, joined us on stage to sing for the couple’s first dances.
What an incredible personal touch.
Having your sister sing your first dance is special enough, but having her perform accompanied by a live 10-piece big band in the ballroom of a Scottish castle?
Now that’s what we call impact and wow factor!
It was a beautiful moment, and exactly the kind of personal detail that makes a wedding truly unforgettable.
An Unforgettable Night at Glenapp Castle
All in all, this was a very special celebration in one of Scotland’s most spectacular wedding venues.
From the incredible setting at Glenapp Castle to the wonderful guests, fantastic music and packed dance floor, everything came together to create a night that we’re sure Garrett, Cameron and their families will remember for years to come.
And it was certainly a memorable one for us too.
We feel incredibly lucky to perform at such beautiful wedding venues, bringing the timeless sounds of swing and big band music to celebrations like this.
