The Southbank Centre.
So this June we were lucky enough to be requested by Guy Garvey to perform our live band Karaoke show at the Southbank Centre in London as part of the Meltdown festival which Guy was curating this year. What an amazing night! This was kicked off by Guy himself and then opened up to the amazingly talented Southbank audience. No rehearsal, just pure talent, and there was plenty of that around. What an amazing night.
June has been a fantastic month for The Mini Big Band, with so many varied events. From weddings to charity masquerade balls, to festivals and even our amazing Swingaoke (live band karaoke) show as requested by Guy Garvey for his Meltdown festival at London’s Southbank Centre. This June we were lucky enough to be asked by Guy Garvey (Elbow) to perform our live band karaoke show at the South Bank centre in London as part of his Meltdown Festival. This was an amazing night giving the chance to the audience to come up and sing with the live band on stage. Guy opening the night and then the amazing singers just kept on coming. What an amazing night!
This is the 4th time we’ve played for Medsoc (medical society for Leeds University) and these guys really know how to party, this night was no exception.

On behalf of Charlotte and I, I would like to say a big thank you to you and the rest of your team who played at our wedding. The day was already absolutely perfect, but arriving into the Olympia suite to the sight and sound of the Big Mini Band just made the day!
We were late to arriving to the evening reception (a brides prerogative…!) but that was no problem to the band who adapted to the time change perfectly. The music was unbelievable and the second set especially when all the guests had warmed up, had everyone on their feet dancing the night away!
I will absolutely be recommending the Big Mini Band to everyone I know for any occasion and certainly hope to use you again for the next of our special occasions.
